Court of Protection / Receivership

If it is too late to consider an EPA the alternative procedure is an application to the Court of Protection. The Court appoints someone to act as receiver in order to administer a person's finances and the receiver is fully accountable to the Court at all times. This firm is always prepared to take the receivership appointment on the family's behalf. Although this kind of application is more time consuming and costly, the appointment is a legal one, and there are times when there is simply no alternative. This is the major difference between a Receivership and an EPA and it is why we always recommend completing an EPA as soon as possible.
