Probate

When a person dies we understand that it is a difficult time for the surviving family and friends. The common misconception is that if you have a will you do not need probate. Literally, probate means proof that a will is valid. However, probate is triggered by the value of the estate whether there is a will or not. In the case of intestacy the document is called Letters of Administration. Executors or administrators (in the case of an intestacy) are responsible for legally administering the estate. Our department's role is to guide them through the necessary formalities and assist where needed.
